MD-Craigslist-Bonded Baltimore Boars!

or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to

ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

LISTING REMOVED Baltimore, MD: Two bonded boars (the short hair one has stolen my heart) looking for a forever home. Included in their rehoming fee is their cage, supplies (food, water bottle, bedding, hay, treats (research to make sure they're okay), chew toys (ditto). Familiar with dogs and cats.

GUINEA PIG LESSON: r.e. the vitamin additive for the water: It is NOT advisable to put vitamin C in the water, because it makes the water tastes bad and discourages the guinea pig from drinking as much (plus I forget the term, but the vitamin C is only actually effective in the water for the first five minutes, then it's just bad tasting water for the rest of the day). Your guinea pig should get enough vitamin C from a diet of fresh veggies, but if you're worried, Oxbow makes a Vitamin C tablet.

LISTING REMOVED Midlothian (near Richmond), VA: Two year old male guinea pigs with a C&C cage available for rehoming due to life change and a child losing interest. They are active pigs who love to squeal and jump. They come with two food dishes, water bottle, pigloo and second hideaway, food and bedding for a reasonable adoption fee, as well as a book on guinea pig care, and a cage scoop. They also offer two cardboard carrying cases; it's better to invest in hard plastic carrying cases (these are safer in the event of an car accident).

GUINEA PIG LESSON: a no no from an otherwise extraordinary set up: they offer vitamin C water drops. It is NOT advisable to put vitamin C in the water, because it makes the water tastes bad and discourages the guinea pig from drinking as much (plus I forget the term, but the vitamin C is only actually effective in the water for the first five minutes, then it's just bad tasting water for the rest of the day). MD-Small Angels Rescue-Bonded Adult Males

Small Angels Rescue; Foster home network centering in Frederick, MD: Alwin and Darsy!

Alwin and Darsy are an adorable (matching), bonded adult pair of neutered male guinea pigs. Alwin is the boy on the left and Darsy is the boy on the right. They came to the rescue because their previous owner's roommates did not wish her to keep them. These boys have been well cared for since day one, enjoying healthy vegetables and unlimited hay. They are very bonded and must be adopted together.

Alwin recently went through a surgery to remove a cyst from the skin of his tummy, "it was not causing him any distress, but we prefer to have cysts removed in case they become a nuisance." Sounds smart!

MD-Small Angels Rescue-Adult Coed Pair

Small Angels Rescue; foster networks stemming outward from Frederick, MD: ADOPTED! Imelda and Maxx!

Such cute-hearts! Imelda is a beautiful short haired black and white *crested* girl, with one black ear and one pink ear--so cute! Maxx is a neutered boy, agouti brown, ginger and white with handsome dark eyes. They are quite bonded, active and love to chase about their cage, but enjoy lap time as well. They are being rehomed together because their family is moving and can't bring them along. Poor family. Poor piggies!

MD-Animal Advocates of Howard County-Young/Adult Male (Very Handsome!)

Animal Advocates of Howard County; Ellicott City, MD: ADOPTED! Ron!

What a handsome fellow! His profile says young, but his bio says adult, so we'll go with young adult. He is very fond of people, and squeaks as soon as they enter the room. He's a little nervous around new people but gets used to them pretty quickly. He seems like a lovely pig!

Important section from Ron's bio:

He is a cute little boy who lived with children and he even liked the dog and cat he lived with. He was purchased from a pet shop for a child. When their child lost interest in him, he was brought into animal control because they didn’t want him anymore. Ron hopes that everyone will take and spread his story. When animals are purchased as pets, you commit to that animal’s lifetime. We need to teach our children that pets are not dispensable when they loose interest, they still need care and love, just like people.

VA-Virginia Beach Animal Control Bureau-Two males, one female

Virginia Beach Animal Control Bureau; Virginia Beach, VA: LISTING REMOVED. Two male guinea pigs and a LISTING REMOVED. Female guinea pig! As this is an animal control, I would give a general euthanasia worry...just a guess.

The two boys are young and medium sized. It looks like they're being kept in tanks--this creates poor circulation and can lead to a toxic environment over time. Shelters have to make due with their poor funding, it's a great reason to donate! (And of course I may be wrong, I mean no disrespect to the good people at VBACB).

The female guinea pig is a beautiful young girl of medium size. So adorable!
