VA-Roanoke Valley SPCA-two girls

The Roanoke Valley SPCA has two new beautiful, crested, girl piggies. Be still my heart!

LISTING REMOVED. Eve is another beautiful girl. She and Mallie are sisters. I think Eve has the proper spoiled grumpy pig face some of them get when they're not being fed or cuddled. She is a sweet sow who loves to be held. The shelter says she is spayed. Though they're not promoting them as a bonded pair, I would consider asking about adopting them both. If they've spent their whole lives together they might want to keep up the pattern.

LISTING REMOVED. Mallie is a beautiful, socialized piggie who is about a year old. She is shy at first, but then warms right up. Imagine how comfortable and happy she would be in a forever home!

Virginia Beach SPCA has a new piggy girl named LISTING REMOVED. Sandy. She is eight months old with short orange hair. Sandy has experience with kids, and was given up because her family had no time and/or room for her. I'll update if this girl gets a picture. Beat me to it and adopt her!

DC/VA/MD-New MGPR pigs-SUPER AMAZING WONDERFUL AND SWEET

Remember this post? These darling, sweet pigs are now available for adoption from MGPR. These pigs stayed with us for six days, so I can personally attest to how sweet and loving they are. They are, first off, very cute and beautiful at the same time. They are also big chubbos, so they are impossibly fun to hug. And they are active pigs who love each other, life, and hay. How someone could put such beautiful pigs in a box, by a dumpster, with a fr33 sign, is beyond me. These pigs are really perfect pets. I can't say enough how much I grew to love them in the short time they were here, and how I still miss them now. I'm going to add a stipulation to anyone who adopts them: they must send me pictures!

ADOPTED! Sabrina (R) and Sienna are such dear pigs. They are both spayed. Below is their photo on the MGPR site, and then I'm going to add a few pigs from when they were with us.

VA-Craigslist-Four Listings

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

LISTING REMOVED. Hampton (near Norfolk), VA: Sweet and loving sow needs a new home due to a changed work schedule. This very gentle one year old pig comes with her cage, food, two water bottles (perfect for when you get her a friend), shampoo, vitamins, and bedding. Very reasonable adoption fee, especially considering all that comes with her.

POST DELETED. Salem (near Roanoke), VA: This is a reposting for an ad that originally had four pigs available for adoption, but is down to two. I hope the others are okay. The two sows are very bonded (and cute). They are described as very friendly and healthy, and they come with their petstore cage (get them a C&C by following the links at the bottom). Also comes with accessories and any left over bedding or food. The poster hopes to find them a home by Christmas.

POST DELETED. Fairfax Station (in NoVa), VA: Two boars, enormous C&C cage, and accessories being rehomed for a really, really good adoption fee. This is a great ad for someone who is new to pigs but has educated themselves on the basics. The brothers are less than one year old and incredibly adorable. They are being rehomed due to severe allergies, and are available for pick up at a specified public space (smart on the part of the posters).

LISTING DELETED. very weird. Burke, VA: A repost of two cute boars. the black and white boar is eight months old, the other one is three months old. Must be adopted together. Experience with kids, vocal, very affectionate and love attention. Must purchase cage (petstore cage, get a new one) and lots of supplies for very reasonable price. Wait a minute, what the hell? These are the two other boars from that ad that used to be for four pigs. Did someone pick them up and is now rehoming them a week later? Or is this poster posting them from two separate places? Investigate before adopting from either of these ads.

VA-Fairfax County Animals Services-Two new pigs

Fairfax County Animal Service just posted two new pigs which I am a bit worried about. From their picture it looks like they are housed together, but their sex is unknown. Do a pregnancy watch if adopting these pigs!

ADOPTED! Doodle is a gorgeous piggie with a crest, age unknown.

ADOPTED! And if Yankee's not related I'll eat a hat. An adorable piggie whose age is also unknown.

ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

ADOPTED! Leesburg/Ashburn, VA: I hate this ad, because I don't know whether the pigs are dead even before I post them. They're being offered for fr33 and the poster doesn't list an email address so people can warn him/her. Ugh, it would be pure luck and chance if these pigs wind up okay. They come with a cage and other supplies. (Oh I couldn't stand it, I just called and left a message warning them about the dangers). The pigs are a little a bit over a year old, and sex is not specified. Pig on the left is named Snickers, pig on the right is named Oreo.

MD-Chesapeake Bay Guinea Pig Rescue Inc.-New Boar

Chesapeake Bay Guinea Pig Rescue Inc. has a new piggie! And don't forget all the happy pigs already with them. As a reminder, CBGPR is a home based rescue in Annapolis, MD which is always accepting donations
(holiday hint!).

ADOPTED! Guinness is a gorgeous sounding happy young boy. He's a short haired male with golden agouti fur and a white crest. He is a self assured and curious boy who loves purring while being pet. (renamed Guinness)

VA-Fairfax County Animal Services-update on beautiful abby girl

LISTING DELETED. Fairfax County Animal Services has two sows right now, Raven and MooMoo. I've already posted them both, but MooMoo now has a picture up, and she's so beautiful that I thought she was do for an update. I also think I see a bit of Raven in her cage, so they may or may not be bonded. Reminder: MooMoo is three years old and I love her.

And what the heck, here's Raven again:

VA-Craigslist-Adult Boar

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to
ensure it matches the name he or she gives *

LISTING REMOVED. Norfolk, VA: One of the few times I hope when someone uses the word "adopted" they mean they bought the pig from a pet store. Because if a person adopts a guinea pig from a shelter or rescue they are almost without exception (the exception being the rescue/shelter, not circumstance), required to return the pig to where they adopted him from. Anyway, Weekey is a two and a half year old boar who is being rehomed because of allergies. He is very "great" and comes with a cage and supplies. The poster says her daughter loves him, so this may mean he is used to children.

DC-Craigslist-Two Sows

FLAGGED FOR REMOVAL. Northwest Washington, D.C.: Not much info to mock or fear here, but the adoption fee is far t00 l0w. Two sows come with cage and supplies. Cute and healthy, according to the posters. Well, I fell like even site unseen I can confirm they're cute. They're guinea pigs!

FLAGGED FOR REMOVAL. Washington, DC: A very cautious ad posted on CL, reading: "do you want a pet-$20/do you want to care for a guinea pig? he needs a home where he could be loved and cared for?" and then a contact number. I'm going to copy-edit that last sentence to read: "He needs a home where he could be loved and cared for!"
