Look at this loaf! And what beautiful eyes!

for 2-3 weeks and confirming the sex yourself.
Many sad accidents or "accidents" can be avoided this way. *

Hadriel guinea boy (born est. the end of July 2007) is on the left, Dragana is on the right. The couple met in foster care and became fast friends! Hadriel was part of a large surrender to an animal shelter, rescued by Small Angels. He is super energetic and loves to run around. Dragana was abandoned after hours at a local animal shelter. VA-Virginia Beach SPCA-Romancing the Guinea Pig (Corazon!)

Virginia Beach SPCA, VA: LISTING REMOVED. Corazon!

Corazon (meaning "heart" in Spanish), is a 3 month old male. He was surrendered because of reasons related to his owners' landlord. He has experience with kids, but his experience with dogs and cats is unknown. He has smooth black/brown fur.

GUINEA PIG LESSON: Guinea pigs should not be housed on wire floors as Corazon is in the picture, because it can lead to a very painful condition known as bumblefoot.

LISTING REMOVED. Leesburg, VA: Female pig about one year old being rehomed because owners moving cross country. (If you find yourself in the same position and don't want to part with your pig--fly Delta--they'll let your pig fly with you carry on). Reasonable fee for pig. Unreasonable fee for extras because sadly they are all basically poison for the pig. I'll quote from the ad and red what's toxic for the pig but what pet stores sell anyway for a profit.

"Asking $10 for our extras: Extras we have include remainder of one bag of LM Animal Farms Bananza Bounty Buffet Gourmet Guinea Pig Diet Food , 1 package of Vitakraft nibble rings , 2 packages of yogurt drops , one or multiple cages , toys ( 1 "Super Pet" bell toy and 1 carrot shaped rope wrap chew toy, one small bag of hay , purple hard plastic "Super Pets" house, green "Gravity Bin" feeder, "Lixit" plastic hanging water bottle, Super Pet Clean Cage Safe Deodorizer spray, Marshall Bi-Odor Deodorizer spray ..."

Then after that the cages are too small. The posters are well intentioned of course, it's just pet stores that are vile. Poor girly.

MD-GPAN-Bonded young sows

Boyds, MD: Piggy and Snowflake!

Piggy is one year old and Snowflake is six months old. They are both white and being rehomed because the poster's parents may be allergic to the guinea pigs. Piggy likes carrots and Snowflake likes lettuce. I should hope they like more than that!

MD-GPAN-Young Boar

College Park, MD: WITH RESCUE! Versace! AAAH! This guinea pig is in the same town as me! Must. Administer. Self. Control.

Versace is ten months old and an orange and black abby. He is being rehomed due to a pet change policy in the poster's building. Versace is an adorable, vocal, hungry hungry boy. He's an only kid right now, so the poster is unsure of how he'd do with other pigs--and he's not neutered, so you'd better only try him with spayed sows or boars! A baby boy would fare best at bonding attempts.

If I post that I adopted him, I need everyone to send me a lot of hate mail and spam. OH or money, so I could support my growing herd! I won't adopt him though, it's a sorority at the AAGP home.

MD/VA/DC-Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue-Many Guinea Pigs

MGPR, MD/VA/DC-Many guinea pigs! (Note: as this is the organization for which I foster, I know there might be a bit of a wait for the piggies--they're high in demand!).

ADOPTED! Petunia is a beautiful four month old tri-color abby girl. She is a delicate sweetheart, who loves to be held and cuddled. She was dropped off with a number of other guinea pigs at a shelter and was rescued by MGPR fosterers. She has a great appetite and loves attention.

Kelly is a two year and five month old neutered boar with some special needs. Oh, but he's worth it! He is very laid-back and calm, and loves being pet. But, he does need regular visits to the dentist. That doesn't stop him on his quest from finding the perfect family and piggy friend!

ADOPTED! Frank is a personable young pig who likes both pigs and people. He is neutered and looking for a lady guinea pig to spend his days with. I know his foster mom and she just adores him! I met him briefly and he is a gorgeous boy. He has the softest pink ears, and is one year and one month old.

Oreo is an adorable eleven month old teddy mix. He is neutered and so would make a great mate to a lonely lady pig you have at home.

ADOPTED! Hendrix, who doesn't yet have Petfinder profile but does have a listing on the MGPR page, is a year and a half old and very striking looking. He loves rock and roll, earning his name, and is also a very laid back piggie boy.

ADOPTED! Kate is a tricolor abby who needs some help coming out of her shell. She is one year and one month old. In her cage she spends most of her time in her hidey home, but when she's having lap time she likes to be held and have her head stroked. She needs to be adopted to a home with a piggy friend (or with one of ours). She's listed as special needs because her jaw is slightly misaligned, so her teeth need to be kept an eye on--that's all! What a beautiful girl.

LISTING REMOVED Norfolk, VA: Seven month old very friendly, well socialized guinea pig named Chip is being rehomed due to stork attack on home. Small adoption fee for Chip. Additional fee and you can get the cage, hidey home, water bottle, and food dish. Cage has crack, so don't buy it and get a larger, cheaper, easier to clean C&C clean instead (link below).

VA-Cave Spring Piggie Rescue-Adult Boar

Cave Spring Piggie Rescue, VA: LISTING REMOVED Biff!

First off, poor Biff! He thought he had found his forever home, and so did the director of CSPR. A year after his adoption Biff was returned. And this is after he already was brought to the rescue as an unappreciated gift! Biff has had two homes and spent time in the rescue. He really needs to learn now what love and trust means. Can you provide him with a forever home, and teach him that love and trust really do exist?

He is a very sweet American shorthair, who is understandably timid considering his past. Surely with a stable environment he would come out of his shell. He loves to cuddle and is easy to handle. He needs a quiet person who knows how to commit!
