VA-Craigslist-Guinea Pig

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to

LISTING REMOVED. Gainesville, VA: This guy either hates guinea pigs or his in-laws. Whole ad is pretty tinged with disgust, it's really weird! Okay, the poster's in-laws hate to do it, but must lovingly rehome their friend and companion of--oh wait, they need to "get rid of" their guinea pig--oh wait, ginnie pig. the guinea pig, sex not specified, comes with cage, bedding, food, pigloo (description is hilarious: "home-castle-dome whatever you call the thing the ginnie pig 'sleeps in'), water bottle, etc. Reasonable adoption fee being requested, picture available on request. Guy woke up on the wrong side of the bed this life.

MD-Craigslist-Four Boars

LISTING REMOVED. Beltsville, MD: A family is losing their home and cannot take their beloved guinea pigs with them. How sad for everyone involved! There are four brothers who live in a large cage and have a playpen for exercising (and change of pace). They also come with their pigloos, food dishes, litter box, and water bottles. The boars are all used to kids. For more information contact the poster. This is probably counterexample #12,984 to the myth that two boars can't live together.

VA-SPCA Winchester-two adult sows

C o n g r a t u l a t i o n s to SPCA Winchester's on reaching its 100th anniversary! A neat thing I just learned from this shelter's website is that they allow volunteers under the age of 18--if you're under the age of 14 and have your parent or guardian with you, you can even walk and play with the dogs (a lot of shelters have strict 18+ rules about volunteering with the animals). This is a) a great way for parents to bond with their kids b) get experience with a type of animal before adopting c) exercise while helping homeless animals, and d) COLLEGE APPLICATIONS--boo! Snap a pic of yourself holding some cute puppy with sad eyes--Harvard will be eating out of your hand.

LISTING REMOVED. Why did I start talking about this shelter again? Oh that's right, they have two of the most adorable guinea pigs in the world available for adoption. No more information about them than that they're adult females. The crested Angel is large in build, while lovely Snowflake is medium-sized.
