MD-Craigslist-sow

* If responding to a Craigslist ad meet in a public place, or go with a friend. Google the phone number of the poster to

LISTING DELETED. White Marsh (near Baltimore), MD; two year old sow needs new home. Her current owner is going to have a kid, so she feels she won't have enough time for a guinea pig. The guinea pig is described as sweet and mild-mannered. She's never bitten and isn't skittish. The poster recommends her as a single pig, because she's never been around other pigs before. Actually, introducing her to a cagemate might be the nicest thing you could do for this cutie! My Sophie was three years old and some change before she lived with other pigs, once we adopted her. She is the happiest piggie I know. This guinea pig comes with some starter supplies.

LISTING REMOVED.
Pasadena, MD: two bonded sows being given up for adoption because the poster's daughters are allergic. This is one of the great advantages of adopting a guinea pig, you can spend time with one before adopting. Allergies aren't necessarily a reason to rehome, as they can be treated. Look around on Guinea Lynx for more information. Back to these two cuties; they are a mother and daughter pair, five and two months old respectively. They come with some materials, but it doesn't seem like anything is appropriate for guinea pigs but the pigloo.

I'm putting a picture of the cage up to illustrate how what the pet store sells as a large cage isn't even suitable for one guinea pig. Click the cages link at the bottom for cheaper, larger guinea pig cages.

Past Guinea Pigs

It's been a dry spell for people giving up their guinea pigs in this area, so I'm going to remind you of nine guinea pigs I posted almost a month ago who are still up for adoption. Click on their pictures to go to their original listing in this blog. Some of them are in shelters. Save a life--adopt.
