Frederick County Animal Shelter is having a "Christmas at the Shelter" this Saturday, from 11 AM to 2 PM. A ceremony will be held to bless the animals, and you are encouraged to bring your own (I don't think this would be a guinea pig's scene though, or an animal with a vulnerable immune system).

VISIT WITH AND POSSIBLY ADOPT AN ANIMAL.
FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO BRING GIFTS FOR THE SHELTER ANIMALS, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WOULD BE APPRECIATED:
CANNED DOG AND CAT FOOD, BIRD FOOD (COCKATIEL, ETC.), DISPOSABLE CAT TOYS, DOG TOYS, SOLID RAW HIDE CHEWS, BLANKETS, TOWELS, CLEAN CARPET (CUT INTO 12 INCH SQUARES), SHOE BOXES, PINE SOL, CLOROX AND PAPER TOWELS.
